Betty was born in Washington, DC (yes—a local girl) and grew up in Alexandria. She taught high school in Fairfax County Public Schools for 30 years and now works part time for FCPS. Betty has one daughter, Kelly, who is a Veterinarian in Salisbury, MD.
Betty has always loved dance and music and studied ballet and tap as a young child. She was a certified Aerobic Dancing instructor locally for five years years (during the height of the aerobics era—Let’s Get Physical . . . ) and is proud to be a certified LaBlast instructor.
According to Betty, the best part about teaching LaBlast is that you get a good work out disguised as dancing. You can’t beat that. Betty has always loved ballroom dancing and is also an avid reader and a huge sports fan (Go Redskins!). She has been known to watch almost any sporting event.
Betty has developed a respect for leading in some classes and has come to be known as Mr. Betty. It’s a nickname she is proud to claim.
