Our group classes are a fun and affordable way to learn dancing, so bring your dance shoes and a sense of humor while you learn and make lifelong friends! We offer four levels of classes throughout the week:
Strictly Beginners classes are perfect for the "raw beginner" as they introduce the 10 major ballroom, Latin and club dances, highlighting two new dances each week - Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Rumba, Cha Cha, Swing, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango Viennese Waltz - learn them all in a fun, social atmosphere
Level 1 & 2 (Foundation) classes teach fundamentals and basic patterns for the newer dancer but only two dances are taught for an entire 4-week series for more in depth learning. Students are expected to complete all Level 1 classes before advancing to Level 2; all Level 2 classes before advancing to Level 3, etc. We reserve the right to refuse class registration to anyone deemed unprepared to advance to a higher level class. Private students may seek permission from their instructor to skip levels.
Level 3 & 4 (Intermediate) classes stress more intricate patterns and technique to make you look and feel great on the dance floor. Only one dance is taught in each 4-week session for more in-depth learning. This is where dancing really gets fun, spontaneous and aerobic. Students are expected to complete all level 1 & 2 classes before advancing to level 3, etc. Level 4 represents “full bronze” level in most dances.
Level 5 & 6 (Advanced) classes are for the hobbyist who wants to take dancing to the highest level possible. Level 5 includes the balance of bronze and open bronze material plus a review of all steps, with an eye towards advanced technique and styling. Level 6 begins silver level dancing which takes the dancer to a whole new level of styling and complexity. Many of our silver students compete in competitions or perform showcases at one of our three annual showcase events.
